Still celebrating Christmas!

Our Christmas starts with a special dinner
on Christmas Eve.
We have fish, pierogi (a real treat from St. Vladimir's),
garlic, honey......
and this year borscht,
specially made by chef pj.
It was so good, we had extra helpings.

On Christmas day, after mass, we enjoy our gifts
to each other and have a good breakfast.
Moose liked trying on sweaters.

At last the snow came and we were blessed with
the most wonderful day!
We kept warm and cozy and full of good things.

Christmastime is here.....

ice sculptures when there is no snow
can help you imagine...

 snowmen waiting for that magical
time when they will find their new home.....

and where there is a red tree....
it can only be at Lauren's......

Always give THANKS.....

for the abundance of
nature, friends &
family.

May we never forget why it is we are able to
wake up each day.
May we always give thanks for what we have
and what we have not.
It is a powerful word,
never to be taken lightly,
"THANKS"

Happy Birthday to Annie!

She loves her dogs,
 has lots of fun anywhere,
and any time of day or night,
enjoys any evening out with family and friends,
loves to craft ( that's an understatement!),

but most of all, she's a really GREAT daughter
& thirty years ago today, she made me a Mom,
and her father a Dad.

 Happy Birthday, Ann!
We love you something fierce, xo.

Autumn has arrived.

The skies have been the bluest blue
and yards have been the greenest green.
Gardens are showing their colors of harvest
and their bounty...
but also the end of the season of growing.

Just as quickly as the skies turn true blue,
they turn angry grey.
Awe is the way we look at the beauty
the sky makes from the landscape.

And beauty comes at all times of the day,
but maybe morning is the best of the best!

Summer's Sizzling Away All Too Soon.....

Labor Day makes us all stand and look
around at how summer has graced us.
Everything from flowers to veggies
is putting on quite the show to make
sure we stop and know how good life is to all!

The basil looks and tastes great.

 Grapes are ripening so quickly.
This one couldn't wait until October.

Love, love, love how the sunflowers
have a life of their own going on all around them.

What would life be without the tinyiest....
and the persistant.

I do love my sunflowers in all colors and sizes
and so do the finches.
However, one of the most spectacular sights to
behold in the summer is the hummingbird.
If you can hear the hum of their wings approaching
the feeder or flower, and see them hover -
just to be able to drink of the sweet nectar.
Ahhhh, what a blessing.
Even luckier to behold is seeing them wait on
a branch to catch their breath for the next trip.

Finally, a moment of peace, in the quiet night,
for a quiet man....Good Night Mr. Armstrong and Thank You!
