Summer's Sizzling Away All Too Soon.....

Labor Day makes us all stand and look
around at how summer has graced us.
Everything from flowers to veggies
is putting on quite the show to make
sure we stop and know how good life is to all!

The basil looks and tastes great.

 Grapes are ripening so quickly.
This one couldn't wait until October.

Love, love, love how the sunflowers
have a life of their own going on all around them.

What would life be without the tinyiest....
and the persistant.

I do love my sunflowers in all colors and sizes
and so do the finches.
However, one of the most spectacular sights to
behold in the summer is the hummingbird.
If you can hear the hum of their wings approaching
the feeder or flower, and see them hover -
just to be able to drink of the sweet nectar.
Ahhhh, what a blessing.
Even luckier to behold is seeing them wait on
a branch to catch their breath for the next trip.

Finally, a moment of peace, in the quiet night,
for a quiet man....Good Night Mr. Armstrong and Thank You!

Lovin' it at the Lake

It was a wonderful week at
Lake Wallenpaupack.
Sun, serenity,
silence & skiing (not!)

We laughed our way through the week.
Had scars, bumps, bruises & cuts.
Good food.
Enjoyable company.
Not a thing to worry about.
What more could we have asked for on our week away!

Mary & Bright!

Lots of sun and brightness,
led us to the top of the hill,
to St. Ann's Basilica & Shrine,
in Scranton, Pa., for the
annual St. Ann's Novena.

Each year thousands come from all across
the country, to pray, meditate, worship,
just be quiet and still,
and wonder about life.
Blessings come forth in such
great abundance, no one goes away
without the grace of hope.

Gifts from a summer day!

More, more, birds, birds!

So in the beginning, the summer
has provided us with stunning
double impatients....

just the most beautiful daylilies!

Incredible asiatic lilies, that smell something good!
But right in the middle of the vast producing
grapevine, mother and father robin has
decided to erect a new residence......
to house their four little ones.........
it's clear they are keeping their parents
very busy throughout the day!
And yet another mother has decided
to once again lay four eggs in one nest,
on the elbow of the rain gutter........
I must do something after these
little ones fly the coop!

Hot Summer Days

It could not be a better time to be alive...
with life blooming all around,
joyous beings taking in all the world has to give.
Smell the color,
breathe in the sweetness,
open your eyes to the beauty
of all there is to this vista.

In each and every thing,
Life is better than good!

Summer's here!

We're out and about on this
first day of summer!

Moose is all about the running and jumping,
and playing with his jollyball......
can't keep up with this dog.
It's a good thing he does take
a break now and then.

There's a beautiful thing going on
in my yard this year....
a redesigned garden.
My hubby staked-out the four compass
points & we have a star garden plot!
Much easier to plant and take care of,
this idea was long overdue.

Impatients, bee balm & lily attract those hummingbirds!

My hydrangas are the best they have ever been.
Old fashioned and a lace-cap, known as "Blue Willow".

I can't stop taking a gaze at the lavender but
not to look and smell the flowers.....
it's because of the bees!

They work so hard,
all day long, for a small sampling of that
delicious nectar from the One and Only!
